In the morning, she’ll experience specialized learning and fun activities designed for girls her age. Is capable of working in a fast-paced environment and thinking on their feet Camp Kaleidoscope offers activities that will keep her engaged and happy. Is able to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents. Has 2+ years of experience teaching and/or counseling school-age children. Has college or graduate degree in education, special education, social work, counseling or related field. Facilitate weekly staff meetings attend daily staff check-ins and partner on a daily basis with Director and Assistant Director. Provide information to parents, caregivers and staff regarding topics of typical and atypical child development and behavior. Identify and utilize strategies to help children with mild special needs and behavioral challenges. Communicate with parents and caregivers regularly. Plan and lead staff orientation activities. The Special Education Director must be available for the full camp season as well as orientation, training, and pre-camp meetings the week of June 20. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity.
